- Blocks D to F and surrounding areas: more residential, with smaller neighbourhood play schools.
- Near Janakpuri West and Uttam Nagar side: additional chain branches and budget options, sometimes at lower fees.
- Adjoining areas such as Vikaspuri, Tilak Nagar and Dwarka: widen your search if you want a particular approach. See best play schools in Dwarka.

Age Rules and Next Steps
For Nursery in Delhi's private schools, the Directorate of Education requires the child to be 3+ as on 31 March of the session year (4+ for KG, 5+ for Class 1 for 2026-27). Play group entry ages are set by each preschool, usually from 18 months to 2.5 years. Play school itself is optional, and a play group sits before formal Nursery. See play school vs nursery vs daycare and the state-wise admission age criteria.
How to Choose the Best Play School in Janakpuri
- Safety: CCTV, secure entry, child-safe furniture, clean washrooms and a clear pick-up policy.
- Teachers: early-childhood training, warmth and a low child-to-adult ratio.
- Routine: free play, activity, rest and outdoor time, with no formal writing or homework for toddlers.
- Approach: compare options in Montessori vs play-way vs international preschool.
- Commute and hours: Janakpuri's lanes and traffic can be busy at drop-off time, so a centre within your block or a short ride is a big advantage. Ask about van or transport service and exact timings.

- Settling-in plan: see readiness and settling-in tips.
